Video: Chris Weidman scores bizarre, controversial technical decision win

In the middleweight showdown at UFC Atlantic City this past Saturday, Chris Weidman clashed with Bruno Silva, resulting in a surprising outcome in the final moments.

After suffering a defeat against Brad Tavares in August, Chris Weidman made a comeback into the victory lane. However, the manner in which he secured the win was less than ideal.

The former middleweight titleholder showcased strong performance in the first two rounds and appeared to be gearing towards a potential victory in the third. However, two inadvertent eye pokes from Chris Weidman caused Bruno Silva to fall to the canvas. This led to some ground and pound from Weidman, bringing an end to Silva’s night. Referee Gary Copeland intervened, calling an end to the bout at 2:18 into the third round. Initially, Weidman was awarded a TKO victory.
