Petr Romankevich brutally KO’s Zuluzinho after a terrible stand up by the referee
This saturday, a Belarusian fight promotion shocked the Mixed Martial Arts community after a terrible stand up by the referee.
The Brazilian MMA Fighter, Zuluzinho, son of Vale Tudo legend “Rei Zulu”, was in action at an MMA event in Belarus. The heavyweight fighter headlined AMC 114 event against Russian Petr Romankevich.
In the opening round Zuluzinho was able to get the takedown and transitioned to full mount, as he began working to isolate Romankevich’s left arm to get the tap, the referee stepped and stopped the submission, despite The Brazilian was in a dominating position and looking to finish his opponent.
In fraction of second, the tables turned fast with Zuluzinho floored by way of knockout just few seconds remaining in the first round.
Update: After a research we found that (5 months ago) AMC’s president “Kamil Gadzhiev” announced a new rules. Fighters are allowed to be on the ground only for 1 min at the time regardless if there’s a submission in place or not.
Zuluzinho has competed for many organizations like Pride, Cage Warriors, Bodog Fight and K-1 Dynamite throughout 18-year MMA career.
