Luke Rockhold won’t be making his return to fight Sean Strickland at UFC 268

According to reporter Mark Raimondi, Former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is out of his scheduled bout against Sean Strickland at UFC 268 on Nov. 6 due to a herniated disk in his back.

“Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold’s octagon return after more than two years will have to wait due to a herniated disc. Sources said it’s unclear if Sean Strickland will remain on the #UFC268 card.”

Luke Rockhold has confirmed the news of his injury in a video posted to his Instagram account.

“There’s no easy way to really say it, but the fight is off in New York,” Rockhold said . “I ended up herniating a disc in my back. L4, L5. The docs say it’s nothing I can play with. I need to do some treatment and recovery time.

“Some things just aren’t meant to be. New York, motherf*cking New York. I’m sorry to the friends and the peeps and everyone, but we’ll be back. Until next time.”

UFC 268 will go down on Nov. 6 from Madison Square Garden in New York, the main card now includes Usman vs. Covington, Namajunas vs. Weili, Chandler vs. Gaethje, Strickland vs. Fighter TBA, Edgar vs. Vera.
