Khabib Manager: “Rematch with Conor McGregor is not on our radar”

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will defend the his belt against former interim champion Tony Ferguson in the stellar UFC 249.

Former champion Conor McGregor is calling for a rematch with Nurmagomedov , but Russian manager Ali Abdelaziz said the fight with McGregor is not on the champion’s radar.

“Listen, Dana is the best promoter in history, I respect that man very much”; He told TMZ Sports. “He has to make people worry about Conor. And by mentioning Khabib’s name, it makes Conor more relevant. Okay, He promotes, he can do anything. Khabib has a plan, Dana has a plan. Sometimes we get angry, sometimes we agree, but the business continues. But Conor is not on our radar.  He might lose to ‘Cowboy,” as far as I understand. I think he might lose “

Dana White said McGregor could have his revenge with Nurmagomedov if he wins at UFC 246, but the champion does not agree with that.

Abdelaziz also believes it is a smart move by UFC to prevent McGregor from confronting Justin Gaethje.

“Listen, Conor doesn’t want to have anything to do with Gaethje,” he said. “We understand, as I said, Gaethje takes many people to deep waters. We understand that Conor is a deserter, who resigned when he was there. UFC made the right decision not to fight with Gaethje, because he would have beaten him. It’s simple”.

UFC 246 will be held on January 18 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
