Two title fights featuring Ngannou vs. Gane and Adesanya vs. Whittaker 2 are being targeted for UFC 270 at the first pay-per-view event of 2022.
According to French outlet La Sueur , UFC 270 will take place on January 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight is not officially announced by the organization, but the promotion is targeting a UFC Heavyweight Championship title unification bout between current champion Francis Ngannou and interim champion Ciryl Gane in the first pay-per-view in 2022. As for the co-main event, Israel Adesanya will defend his UFC Middleweight Championship against Robert Whittaker.

Gane (10-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) with a third-round TKO of Derrick Lewis at UFC 265, became interim champion just four months after Ngannou (16-3 MMA, 11-2 UFC) captured the heavyweight belt by knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 in March.
