Video: Tom Aspinall did not sustain any “dangerous” eye damage upon initial evaluation
Tom Aspinall gives a health update on his eye after the controversial poke at UFC 321.
The first title defense for undisputed heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall was declared a no-contest at the 4:35 mark of the first round. Following the stoppage, the 32-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where doctors in Abu Dhabi performed medical tests and an initial assessment.
Tom Aspinall documented his emotional day at UFC 321 in a 47-minute video shared on his YouTube channel on Sunday. The video covers his fight preparation, the fury backstage after the no-contest, and his trip to the hospital for eye exams. Fortunately, Aspinall was seen getting some early positive news from a doctor who assured him they found “nothing dangerous” when examining his eyes. Despite this, the popular English fighter will still require more comprehensive tests upon returning home before being cleared for action.

The doctor says it was good that the fight was stopped despite not finding anything “dangerous” from initial scans.
Aspinall will now undergo more scans when he returns to the UK.

“You should stop the fight until you are good again and until you are cleared from our side,” the doctor told Aspinall.
“Not after this visit, after the second. After making sure everything is coming back to normal with the vision.
“But we didn’t find anything dangerous.”
