Video: Wanderlei Silva Brutally knocked out COLD in a brawl after his boxing match debut

Wanderlei Silva’s boxing debut in São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday night ended disastrously.

Wanderlei Silva faced former boxing champion Acelino Freitas in the main event of Spaten Fight Night 2 in São Paulo. Though designated an exhibition match, the bout quickly spiraled out of control as Silva repeatedly committed fouls, including an apparent intentional head butt in the fourth round.

Despite outweighing the experienced Freitas by nearly 50 pounds and attempting aggression, Silva had no answer for “Popo’s” refined technique, getting rocked in both the first and second rounds. The third round turned chaotic when Silva literally walked over Freitas and pushed him down. The fight concluded wildly with multiple punches thrown after the bell.

The chaos intensified in Round 4 as the fighters repeatedly fouled and ignored the referee. After receiving three point deductions—including two for head butts, Silva was disqualified. A massive brawl erupted immediately, involving both teams. In the ensuing melee, Silva was knocked cold inside the ring by a man in a tuxedo leaving him splayed on the canvas while the fighting continued.
