Watch: Diego Lopes knocks out Jean Silva

Diego Lopes finished Jean Silva in a “Fight of the Year” contender at Noche UFC.

Lopes almost ended the fight in the first round. He took Silva down after an attempted spinning heel kick, then immediately moved into a full mount. From there, Lopes threw a barrage of elbows and punches, but Silva managed to reverse their position and get back to his feet with 90 seconds left in the round.

The second round was a different story. Silva found his rhythm and started connecting with strikes, putting pressure on Lopes. However, Silva became too aggressive while walking Lopes down, leaving himself open. Lopes capitalized with a vicious spinning back elbow that sent Silva crashing to the canvas.

This marked Lopes’ sixth UFC win (27-7 overall) and snapped Silva’s 13-fight winning streak, putting Lopes back in title contention after his close loss to Alexander Volkanovski earlier in 2025.
